We restore

At the heart of our workshop is a family-owned business built on almost 80 years of experience, craftsmanship, and care. We are proud to have restored thousands of beloved pieces across generations, combining traditional techniques with a deep respect for quality materials. Every item we work on receives the attention and dedication it deserves—because to us, restoration isn’t just a service, it’s a craft passed down and perfected over time. Whether it’s a treasured family heirloom or a well-loved piece showing signs of age, we’re here to bring it back to life with skill, care, and pride.

Wooden Item Repairs:
While antique and fine furniture is at the core of our work, we also repair a wide range of wooden items—from toys and trophies to decorative objects and everyday household pieces. If it’s made of wood and holds meaning to you, chances are we can restore it.

Cane Panel Repairs:
We remove and replace damaged or broken cane panels, preserving as much of the original structure as possible while restoring both its beauty and strength.

Veneer Repairs:
Our veneer touch-ups and patching blend seamlessly with the original surface, restoring integrity without compromising character.

From subtle touch-ups to full structural work, we approach every job with honesty, precision, and pride in our craft.

Reach out with any questions and we will get right back to you!

Services we offer

Stripping

We strip every piece by hand, using our own industrial-grade stripper rather than the chemical acid baths commonly used today. This careful approach allows us to preserve the integrity of the wood and ensure a gentler, more controlled restoration process.

Staining

We apply a variety of types of stains depending on the colour required.  In general, we will apply a stain by hand and wipe it off.  We can colour match period pieces as well as colour match newer furniture in touch ups.

Pick-up and Delivery

If needed, we can arrange pick-up and delivery of your furniture for a fee. For very large or heavy items, special arrangements may be necessary. To request a delivery or obtain a free quote, please fill out the form on our contact page and be sure to include your address details.

Sanding

Every piece is carefully prepared for finishing with sanding techniques selected to suit its age, condition, and style. We take great care to preserve the character of each item, combining expert methods with careful hand-sanding where needed to achieve the best possible result.

Refinishing

We apply lacquer, wax, oil, or offer hand painting—including paint washes and specialised effects—for a personalised finish. Our professional spray booth ensures smooth, durable results with the highest quality standards.

Repairing Process

When we repair, we clean all joints before re-assembly, removing all old glue and/or wood/parts from previous attempts that may have failed.  It is imperative that all wood be able to touch fresh wood for glue to adhere correctly.

Joints on table tops are repaired precisely enough that they cannot be seen other than the difference in the wood grain.
